Challenges to responsive web development.
I have been going pretty well until I had health issues and then I was having many blank moments. This was the biggest challenge and timing due to hospital visits. Outside of this I would say there were some areas in which I was not getting my code to work properly. On my cell phone page I could not get the code to show as it should have as in my mock up design. I must say this was very frustrating for sure. The responsive part worked, however, the format was not going as how I designed them to be.

Identify a website with useful navigation
http://www.bestbuy.com/
I went to www.bestbuy.com and found useful navigation on this site. The main page is set up with very clear navigational structure in my opinion. You focus on the logo first and then it directs you to the bold navigational buttons in blue with white writing. Once you hover over the bold navigational buttons it brings down a drop down menu. This helps the customer find the product they are seeking faster before
they get frustrated and just search for it in the search box. Also in the navigational section the company has an option for the Spanish customers to view the site in their given language.
Speaking of the search box it has been placed on the top of the screen and a little bit to the left which is very clear for the customer to know where to search for the products. The shopping cart is very visible in the large yellow tab. I am not seeing anything wrong with the structure from my perspective.

Entertainment Site Comparison
When viewing websites I have noticed the first sample in
which we viewed in class which caught my eye.
This was the Jim Carrey website. http://www.jimcarrey.com/
For one thing the flash took too long to load. As for the
site when we look at the header, well there was none in my opinion. There is no
footer on the site either. The nav bar which is not the usual place as it was
placed at the bottom of the page and in white with a thin font.
There is lots of contrast for sure with all the odd artistic
work, however, there is no real design format to this site.
When I go to a site such as http://www.thewolverinemovie.com/
This site also has no header or footer. The nav bar is at the bottom left with
a lot of social media links on the top of the page. The background has a flash
film trailer for the movie with a scroll bar to see photos.Friday, July 26, 2013
- Introduce yourself. My name is Jeff
- What design choices you encountered while creating your Zen Garden Website? I decided over may choices for my Zen Garden Website, however, I decided to follow the theme of what I would think would be Zen and a garden.
- What challenges, if there are any, with regards to your (flowchart, wire frame and markup) process? There was actually no challenges at all in regards to the flowchart, wire frame and markup.
